Cellulite ExplainedIt is common for pubescent
females to display some degree of cellulite. There appears to be a
hormonal component to its presentation. Cellulite is not related to
being overweight; average and underweight people also get
cellulite. However, diet factors may also contribute to the problem.¹ Cellulite has more water content than other areas of fatty tissue. The greater their water content, the greater their surface area, so ultimately the more water they can hold and so begin a vicious circle with cellulite building and growing, and orange peel, dimpled skin appearing in the surface where the fat cells often feel harder than usual and can sometimes be painful. Poor circulation interferes with the process of waste removal via the lymphatic system. Tension in the muscles also restricts circulation which will eventually lead to congested areas. The interchange of tissue fluids and removal of waste products will decrease and therefore there is an accumulation of fluid and waste products in the area which further leads to cellulite. Cellulite only occurs in the hypodermis of the skin, which is the ONLY layer where the positioning and distribution of fat is governed by Hormones. In the hypodermis fat is arranged into chambers that are surrounded by connective tissue (ice cube bag). Only in this layer hormones control the laying down and positioning of the fat cells. In the remaining 2 layers diet and exercise affect the positioning of the fat. Hormones It follows therefore that Cellulite is a hormonal thing and not a weight thing! That is exactly why you can be a size 8 and still have cellulite, or be a size 18 and have none. Women now have more oestrogen in their bodies than ever before. And it appears that cellulite develops where there is an excess of oestrogen causing waste matter being transported away from organs. Hormones are a contributory factor because women store a lot of oestrogen which encourages the laying down of fat cells in the body especially around the hips. That is why it is rarely seen in girls before puberty. Cellulite can often occur at times of hormonal change such as:
High levels of toxins slow down the lymphatic system, leading to a poor immune system and further build up of cellulite Lifestyle Diet Diet has been shown to affect the development and amount of cellulite. Excessive amounts of fat, carbohydrates, salt, or too little fibre can all contribute to increased cellulite.¹ |

Toxins Toxins are one of the key factors in the development of cellulite. The liver can not keep up with the cleansing needed and the immune system is impaired. When this occurs, so in individuals who are bombarding their bodies with toxins, the body will respond by laying down more fatty deposits in an effort to wrap around the toxin to hide it out of site and allow the liver to catch up. Too many toxins and the result is that the normal systems within the body become compromised. Pollution It is interesting to read research that shows higher levels of obesity are found in areas where higher levels of pollution are recorded. This is because what we breathe in as well as what we put on the skin daily, and what we ingest / digest will have an effect on our toxin levels within the body. What are the most commonly recommended methods for combating cellulite?
The problem With these methods? It is now believed that you can easily tear the delicate structures of the under-lying skin and so can actually worsen the problem by allowing more cellulite to push through to the upper layers Are over the counter preparations sold for combating cellulite, at risk of adding to the problem by increasing toxicity? Many over the counter solutions contain caffeine. Used for its general stimulating properties and believed to therefore increase circulation. Whilst a more gentle method than vigorous brushing or massage, this too can actually cause the condition to worsen since Caffeine is actually toxic to our bodies and so though it may help attract marginal Oxygen levels to the area, it will actually be adding to the potential toxic over load. Preservatives More and more people are becoming preservative aware and electing for preservative- free products. Many of today’s most prominent products and some very expensive ones can contain as many as 4 or even 5 different preservatives in any one cream. This can not be and is not good for the body when used on a daily basis. We should respect our bodies and limit toxicity rather than add to it. How ironic that, products designed to reduce cellulite and detox, can actually be counter productive by increasing the toxin levels in the body |

Why do most remedies use these methods and ingredients? Many over the counter preparations designed to combat cellulite use these ingredients as they are thought to increase circulation. Why increase circulation? Increasing circulation brings fresh blood to the area and the blood carries the oxygen so the theory is that the oxygen will destroy the toxins causing the cellulite! This only delivers what oxygen is available already in the blood, which as Dr Herzog proved, and which is now taken as medical fact: This oxygen level is decreasing naturally with age, environment and modern living. This is therefore only going to generate marginal results as the oxygen levels are depleted If massaging, body brushing and applying ingredients thought to increase circulation are designed specifically to draw oxygen into the area to detox, it makes complete sense that the application of a product proven to deliver additional oxygen will get better results! Karin Herzog offers the only safe, effective and totally natural method to deliver oxygen allowing you to detox and get results. Solution! It is simple and logical to assume that the best way to keep the body healthy and detoxed is to give it back what age, the environment and modern living takes out on daily basis. By replenishing like for like you are safe in the knowledge that you are giving back to the body everything it recognises, needs and can utilise. This can solve the problem rather than add to it with nasty preservatives and additional toxins. |
